A “N130bn 17.945 per cent Federal Government of Nigeria August 2030 bond (five-year reopening) and a N130bn 17.95 per cent FGN June 2032 bond (seven-year reopening)” are included in the offer, which went live on Monday, October 27, 2025.

The auction would be settled on October 29, 2025, with units of sale fixed at N1,000 each, subject to a minimum subscription of N50,001,000 and in multiples of N1,000 after that, the DMO said in a circular posted on its X account on Monday.

It further stated that the bonds’ interest would be paid semi-annually and that full repayment would be made on the dates of maturity.

Launched in 2017, the FGN Savings Bond program is to provide low-risk, safe government securities to retail investors, expand the domestic bond market, and advance financial inclusion.

“Qualifies as securities in which trustees can invest under the Trustee Investment Act; Qualifies as Government securities within the meaning of the Company Income Tax Act (“CITA”) and Personal Income Tax Act (“PITA”) for Tax Exemption for Pension Funds, among other investors,” according to DMO’s assessment of FGN Savings Bonds.

Additionally, it clarified that the bonds are listed on the FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange and Nigerian Exchange Limited, making them liquid assets that banks can use to satisfy their liquidity ratio requirements.
The Office emphasized that the bonds are charged against the country’s general assets and are supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria’s full faith and credit.

Investors were advised to get in touch with the main dealers’ and market makers’ offices, notably Access Bank Plc. Citibank Nigeria Ltd., First City Monument Bank Plc., Stanbic IBTC Bank Ltd., First Bank of Nigeria Ltd., and Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Ltd.

revealed last month that during the first eight months of this year, DMO raised around N3.03 trillion from FGN savings bonds.

The DMO issued over N2.13 trillion in short-, medium-, and long-dated bonds, according to an examination of the monthly FGN bond auction results from January to August 2025.

Nonetheless, over the reviewed period, subscriptions reached almost N4.94 trillion due to a desire for long-dated bonds.
