England captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, becoming the first Englishman in 25 years to claim football’s most prestigious individual award.

The 33-year-old was crowned winner at the 70th edition of the ceremony held at the London Palladium on Monday, October 26, 2026. He finished ahead of Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé, who placed second, and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, who came third.

Kane’s victory follows a remarkable 2025/26 campaign in which he scored 73 goals for club and country, including 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern Munich and 12 for England.

His impressive performances helped Bayern secure the Bundesliga title and the German Cup, while his goalscoring contributions also played a significant role in England’s run to third place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Kane additionally received the Gerd Müller Trophy for Men’s Striker of the Year, capping a memorable night for the England international.

The achievement makes Kane only the fifth Englishman to win the men’s Ballon d’Or, following Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Michael Owen, who was the last English winner in 2001.

Kane’s triumph represents a major milestone in his career, rewarding years of consistency, determination and goalscoring excellence at the highest level of football.
