The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil, made this announcement in a statement on Wednesday.

Wakil clarified that the action came when a community member reported via distress call on September 29, 2025, that three males, Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal, had been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen.

“A coordinated response involving the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, and Nabordo Division, along with local security partners, was immediately activated upon receiving the report,” he stated.

“The victims were safely and unharmedly rescued after the joint team successfully tracked the suspects to the village’s outskirts and engaged them in a professional operation.”
Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo were among the suspects detained, according to the police spokeswoman.

“While investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details behind the abduction, the rescued victims have been reunited with their families in good health,” he said.

“The suspects have started giving investigators helpful information,” he said. After the investigations are over, they will be taken to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for a thorough profile.

Wakil went on to say that CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police, praised the police for their prompt action and asked the public to be on guard.

He also urged the public to swiftly disseminate reliable information that could help security forces stop criminal activity and keep the peace in Bauchi State.
