The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Marshal Hassan Abubakar, and a delegation of senior NAF officers to the ministry in Abuja.

In a statement made by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Badamasi Haiba, the minister stressed the importance of assisting the Air Force in its efforts to protect the country by ensuring that its employees have access to housing that is suitable.

He stressed that, under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Housing Agenda, the Ministry is committed to providing cheap housing options to all Nigerians, including military personnel.

“As the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, we recognize the importance of providing appropriate housing for members of the Nigerian Air Force. Dangiwa declared, “We assure you our commitment to working with you to meet the needs of our Air Force.”
The program Renewed Hope Cities and Estates, which has the goal of providing 50,000 cheap housing units in Nigeria in its initial phase, was further discussed by the Minister. A Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model operates 3,112 units in Abuja, 500 units in Kano, and 1,500 units in Lagos.

Dangiwa also noted that construction is currently underway in twelve places across the country, with developments scattered across geopolitical areas.

He also stated, “The program offers various purchase options to make homeownership accessible, including outright purchase, rent-to-own, installmental payments, and mortgage loans with single-digit interest rates over a 30-year period.”

Dangiwa stated that the Ministry was prepared to provide the entire property to the Nigerian Air Force at a discounted rate, with the option of installment payments, in response to Abubakar’s request for the National Housing Program units in Bauchi.

He ordered the Permanent Secretary to organize a joint assessment tour of the Bauchi site in order to speed up the acquisition process and guarantee that the discount would cover the repairs required for units that were damaged.

Acknowledging the company’s history of civil works and housing construction, the minister also endorsed the Air Force’s request that their Investment Limited Housing and Construction Company be considered for future procurement bids.

In his remarks, Abubakar praised the Minister for the advancements made under his leadership and stressed the importance of providing affordable housing for both active and retired Air Force members. He emphasized that such welfare initiatives would greatly improve the force’s morale and operational readiness.

They also promised to work with the Nigerian Air Force and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to make sure that military members have access to affordable, high-quality housing all over the country.
