Some youths in Kano have said that the fatal fire that broke out recently at the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II,’s outer court of the Kofar Kudu Palace, was a bad omen and the result of God being angry with him.
In the meantime, the Kano Youth Coalition (KYC) said that the incident was an obvious indication that Allah was furious with the Emir and his allies in a statement that was signed by Comrade Abdullahi Nuhu, the group’s president.
The judiciary, Sanusi’s people, and God, according to Nuhu, have denied his reinstatement.
“It is unlawful and blatantly against the law that Emir Sanusi is still occupying the palace.
“The state government has persisted in advocating for his reinstatement even after a court ruling prevented the dissolution of the Kano Emirates. This is an outright disobedience to the law and an injustice.
“We attribute the fire incident to Allah’s anger with Emir Sanusi’s defiance and disobedience,” said the statement.
Sanusi’s stay threatens peace in Kano
Quoting from Surah An-Nisa Ayat 14, Nuhu said, “And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits – He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment.”
The group added that Sanusi’s stay endangered the peace and stability in Kano and advised him to leave the palace right once in order to prevent more warning indicators.
“We also demand that the state government follow the law and cease encouraging this criminal activity. To resolve this issue and guarantee that justice is done, they must move quickly.
“We cannot watch helplessly as the law is broken and the people of Kano are not given justice. We want Emir Sanusi to abdicate his throne right away,” Nuhu said.
