Amid growing political unrest in Oyo State, former governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose met with Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Rashidi Ladoja behind closed doors on Tuesday for around half an hour.

According to reports, Fayose had previously accused Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, of plotting to overthrow the king. There were also disputes surrounding Makinde’s purported impeachment by the state House of Assembly, which were reportedly related to the traditional institution.

“I am in Ibadan to identify with the traditional institution,” Fayose said in a brief statement to reporters prior to the meeting. The whole story’s truth will soon come to light.
