In a poignant remembrance shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday night, the Mavins Record artist revealed that his mother passed away on July 4.

Crayon, who described her as his “rock, backbone, and angel,” conveyed the deep sorrow of her passing by saying that the day she passed away was the “darkest” day of his life.

He recalled their final talk, a few days before she died, and that she had prayed for him, as she always did at the beginning of each month.

That would be your final prayer, and I had no idea. You seemed so well and as though nothing was wrong. He wrote, “Just for my entire world to abruptly fall apart in front of me.”

Recalling the heartbreaking moment he saw her dead on a hospital bed, the musician claimed it was his “greatest fear” and it broke him “to pieces.”
In an honest display of sorrow, Crayon wondered why she had died, particularly because it had happened days before his birthday and when things had gotten better for the family.

“You come die and leave me after all the suffering we endured for decades, na now that God has blessed us? What will be the necessity? In a combination of Pidgin and English, he bemoaned.

He praised his late mother as a “warrior” who persevered through years of bearing the family’s burden.

Crayon pledged to be resilient, look after the family, and go on moving forward as Mom would have desired in spite of his loss.

“I know you are always with me and that you are living through me, so I will never say goodbye.” I’m grateful for everything, my lovely mother. “Until we cross paths again, my angel,” he said.

He attested to the fact that Mrs. Chukwu had been buried.
