However, it was reported that three of the robbers were slain in a cross-fire skirmish with the police, and numerous others were hurt during the several-hour-long onslaught.

This event is the third time that Njaba Division has been attacked, and each time police agents have successfully defended their post.

According to Henry Okoye, a spokesman for the Imo police, the thugs drove up in three SUVs to the headquarters, where they began a savage attack interspersed with gunfire.
But police officers moved quickly to defend themselves and confronted the attackers.

“We are extremely proud of our agents for their remarkable bravery and expertise in thwarting the assault,” Okoye declared.

“Our operatives, from the top down, are trained to fight,” stated Okoye, “and that’s why the Umuaka-Orlu road axis hasn’t become as deadly as the Abuja-Kaduna road.”

“Three of the attackers were neutralized during the shootout, while others fled with gunshot wounds.”

A spokesman for the police said that the materials found included three cars—a Toyota Lexus 470, a Mercedes GLK, and a Toyota Venza—as well as one AK-47 rifle and a general purpose machine gun.

He stated that CP Aboki Danjuma was leading a vigorous operation to capture the suspects who were on the run.
