The situation is a result of parents’ and other people’s opposition to Kings College, Lagos’ surrender to the Old Boys Association.

On Monday, checks conducted nationwide revealed that the colleges were empty of students.
The schools would stay closed till the FG reverses its decision to concession Kings College, according to Mr. Ayopo Somefun, Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association of Unity Colleges in the Southwest.

He claims that if Kings College’s concession is upheld, the exercise would be expanded to the other unity colleges, negating the rationale behind establishing the institutions.
