The Transmission Company of Nigeria has declared that while it performs preventative maintenance at its Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substation, the power supply to a number of communities in Delta State will be interrupted.

The maintenance exercise started on June 4 and will continue every day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until June 16, 2026, according to a statement released by TCN on Friday on its X account.

The company states that the work is intended to facilitate the repair of five isolators on the main busbar and the connection of a bus coupler circuit breaker.

According to the statement, “the maintenance is to facilitate the connection of a bus coupler circuit breaker and the rehabilitation of five isolators on the main busbar.”

TCN reported that during the maintenance period, a number of 33kV feeders from the Effurun and Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substations will not be operational.

“Effurun, Warri, Sapele, Osubi, PTI, PMSL, Refinery I, Refinery II, Enerhen, Isoko/Kwale, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Agbarho/Eku, Aladja, Imoniyame, and Beta Glass” are among the impacted feeders.

At the conclusion of each day’s maintenance tasks, the corporation promised businesses and residents that the power supply would be restored.

According to TCN, “power supply will be restored daily at 5:00 p.m., enabling Benin DisCo to offtake electricity for its customers, following the completion of each day’s maintenance activities.”

Additionally, the business expressed regret for any inconvenience the exercise had caused.

The message further said, “TCN apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing maintenance exercise.”
