Three suspects have been detained by Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI troops in Damaturu, Yobe State, on suspicion of providing ammunition to terrorists in the Northeast.

According to security sources, the arrests occurred on May 11, 2026, at approximately 12:05 p.m., as a result of information gleaned from communication intercepts connected to an earlier arrest of an ISWAP member who had expressed regret.
The suspects were captured in Damaturu town, which is home to Yobe State’s Damaturu Local Government Area headquarters.

According to preliminary investigations, one of the suspects was tasked with gathering munitions from the second suspect so that it could be sent to a terrorist leader.

According to military authorities, the suspects are being held while attempts are made to locate the suspected terrorist leader and retrieve the ammunition that was supposed to be delivered.

The development is a component of continuing intelligence-led operations and counterterrorism efforts to disrupt supply networks and logistics that support rebel activity in the Northeast.
