The UEFA Champions League returns to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, with defending champions Paris Saint-Germain carrying a narrow advantage into a decisive second leg against six-time winners Bayern Munich.
“We’re two teams that love to attack. We’re not changing our approach. We want to go forward, and so do they, so it should be an exciting game,” he said in a preview obtained by Naija Street Matters from the UCL website on Monday.
Meanwhile, Bayern striker Harry Kane struck a more clinical tone ahead of the encounter at the Allianz Arena.
“It’s going to come down to who takes their chances. There were plenty of moments in the first leg, and I expect the same again. Playing at home with our fans behind us, we believe that can make the difference,” Kane said.
Even before kickoff, both managers have described the tie as delicately poised and emotionally intense.

“When you’re up against a team with this level of quality, it’s always difficult. We conceded four goals in the first leg, so there are things to fix. We believe we’ll need at least three goals in Munich. It’s a stadium with great memories for us, and we’re going there to win,” he said.
The buildup reflects a tie already living up to expectations. The first leg in Paris delivered a stunning nine-goal thriller—the highest-scoring semi-final in Champions League history—as PSG edged Bayern 5–4 at the Parc des Princes.
That victory snapped a five-match losing streak against Bayern and handed the German side just their second defeat of the season.
With seven different scorers and constant attacking action, the matchup has featured two of Europe’s most dangerous teams in front of goal.
PSG have netted 43 goals in this campaign, while Bayern have scored 42, marking the first time two teams have both crossed the 40-goal mark in a single Champions League season.
The long-standing record of 45 goals set by FC Barcelona in the 1999/2000 season is now under serious threat.
More history could be made in Munich, where just four more goals would establish a new record for the highest-scoring two-legged knockout tie.
The individual battles are just as compelling. Kylian Mbappé leads the scoring chart with 15 goals, followed by Kane on 13 and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with 10.
PSG captain Marquinhos expects nothing less than another intense battle.
“The game in Munich will be just as tough—two teams pushing to win and score. We need to go there with confidence, personality, and the right mindset to get the job done,” he said.
With PSG holding a slim lead and Bayern counting on home support, the second leg is set to deliver another thrilling chapter—where fine margins, attacking brilliance, and history will determine who reaches the final.
