Nollywood filmmaker and media personality Stanley Ontop has reacted to a defamation petition filed against him by actor Frederick Leonard, suggesting the dispute could end up before a court.
Leonard recently petitioned the Delta State Police Command, accusing Ontop of making repeated defamatory statements. Police sources say the petition is currently being reviewed.
In a social media post, Ontop said he had not yet been invited by the police and expressed readiness to defend himself legally if required.
“See you in court,” he wrote on Instagram.
As of the time of reporting, neither the Delta State Police Command nor Frederick Leonard has released an official statement on the matter.
The case adds to a growing list of public disputes within Nigeria’s film industry that have moved beyond online exchanges into formal legal tussles.
