Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has spoken publicly following a viral paternity claim that sparked intense debate across Nigerian social media.

The controversy began after a video surfaced online showing a young woman identified as Anu Adeleke, visibly emotional as she appealed to the singer to agree to a DNA test. In the video, she said she wanted clarity about who her biological father is. The clip quickly spread, drawing widespread attention and prompting many users to tag Davido and demand a response.

After hours of mounting online pressure, the singer addressed the issue in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). Davido stated that DNA tests had already been conducted on several occasions and that the results did not support the paternity claim.

Referring to the emotional nature of such requests, Davido said five separate DNA tests had been carried out, all of which returned negative results. According to him, the tests were conducted at five different hospitals, jointly selected by both parties to eliminate doubts about credibility or bias.

In subsequent posts, Davido denied having any personal relationship with Anu’s mother, explaining that their only interaction occurred during the DNA testing process. He said he did not hold the situation against Anu herself but expressed frustration over what he described as ongoing pressure despite the test outcomes.

“Yes, I chose three hospitals and they chose two,” he wrote. “All came out negative. This is the last time I’m speaking on this.”

His remarks, some of which contained strong language, have continued to stir conversation online, with reactions divided between those who sympathize with his position and others who criticized the tone of his response.

As of the time of publication, Anu Adeleke has not publicly responded to Davido’s statements regarding the DNA tests, and there has been no confirmation of legal action by either party.
