The energy at Tafawa Balewa Square was unmistakable this weekend as the Lagos International Trade Fair 2025 brought together global brands, local entrepreneurs, and curious visitors for one of Africa’s most anticipated business events. From exotic animals to cutting-edge cars, there was something for everyone, and Naija Street Matters (NSM) was there to capture it all.

One of the first surprises of the day came from the Australian silky hens ; soft, fluffy, and so cute they almost looked like tiny puppies. Their exhibitors also showcased peacocks and other rare birds, adding a splash of color to the fairgrounds. Just a few steps away, household names like BIC and Oraimo displayed their latest stationery, gadgets, and tech accessories, keeping visitors entertained and engaged.

The variety across the venue was impressive. Vendors showcased stylish and functional kitchenware from glossy utensils to a pink pan set that became a crowd favorite. Every aisle seemed to hold a new discovery.

Inside the Lagos State Pavilion, the atmosphere was electric. Stalls brimmed with adire fabrics, handmade shoes, locally made snacks, perfumes, and fashion items, reflecting Lagos’ creative and entrepreneurial heartbeat.

Major electronic brands including Haier Thermocool and Hisense brought innovation to center stage with their latest home appliances. While NSM was filming an interview at Haier’s stand, the Lagos Commissioner for Tourism arrived with other dignitaries and foreign investors, underlining the fair’s global importance.

In the automotive zone, it was all about performance and power. Bovas, the petroleum and lubricant giant, joined Cedric Auto Masters, whose range of imported cars from China drew a steady stream of visitors.

Then came the crowd favorite: The Japan Pavilion where some of the world’s most iconic car brands took the spotlight: Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Isuzu, all under the CFAO Group, and Honda turned the space into a haven for car enthusiasts. At the Casio booth, Japanese and Nigerian staff worked seamlessly together, showing off calculators and gadgets with precision and pride. The Isuzu tractor impressed the industrial audience, while Honda’s “Made in Nigeria” luxury-utility vehicle, built with fuel-saving “E-Con” technology, drew applause for its mix of elegance and efficiency.

By the end of the day, the fair had lived up to its reputation; a blend of innovation, culture, and collaboration. From local craftsmanship to international engineering, the Lagos International Trade Fair 2025 proved once again that Nigeria remains a hub of opportunity and imagination.

For Naija Street Matters, this wasn’t just coverage, it was a front-row experience of global business unfolding right in the heart of Lagos.
