Before traveling to Rabat for the actual event, the team will camp in Casablanca and play two important international friendlies against New Zealand and Paraguay, according to a report taken from the NFF’s website on Tuesday and headed by Head Coach Bankole Olowookere.The Flamingos will step up their preparations while in Casablanca by playing two high-profile international friendlies: one against Paraguay on October 14 and another against New Zealand on October 10.
On October 15, the team will relocate to Rabat, where all competing teams will be accommodated for the competition, according to the newspaper.
The Flamingos, Canada, France, and Samoa have all been assigned to Group D. On Sunday, October 19, Nigeria will play their first encounter against Canada. Three days later, they will play France. Both games are set to start at 8 p.m. Nigerian time at the Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 2) and Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 1) in Sale.
On October 25, they will play Samoa in their final group stage match. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 3) in Sale.
Olowookere’s team is confident going into the event after playing ten practice games and scoring an incredible 44 goals without giving up any.
