The source told our correspondent that Christiana had left her home in the Itaoluwo area of Ikorodu to attend industrial training at the University of Lagos in the Yaba area of the state before being kidnapped.

The source went on to say that after she went missing for a time, the abductors contacted her family via phone and demanded a ransom of N3 million before she could be released.

According to the source, after repeated family requests, the abductors agreed to release her if N350,000 was given to a certain account, which the family did, but the abductors refused.

Meanwhile, in a now-viral post on X, a user named @letter_to_jack revealed that intelligence operatives were able to locate the abductor using the BVN and account information used to collect the ransom from the family.

Intelligence operatives began investigating a masked betting account linked to Wema Bank. They confirmed the account owner’s identity and found he withdrawn N100,000 before the betting company locked the account. The suspect was traced to Ikorodu, Lagos State, where Christiana’s family lives. They found him in a mutual relationship with Christiannah Idowu and tracked his cell phone activities and text messages.

Attempts to obtain the victim’s family’s reaction were futile, since calls and texts sent to the family source were not returned as of the time of filing this story.

Furthermore, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, did not respond to messages sent to his WhatsApp line after reading them, and our correspondent’s calls to his number were still unanswered.
