Shortly afterward, Bay FC celebrated her goal on Instagram, writing, “It had to be Oshoala to score first against her former team.”

After Ewa Pajor dribbled down the right side of the field and slotted a pass to Kika Nazareth, who delivered a strike from the edge of the box that snuck inside the left post, Barcelona leveled the score at 1-1. She had intercepted a pass from the Barcelona goalkeeper near the edge of the box and fired a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Bay FC fielded 21 players for the encounter; Oshoala, who replicated her goal-scoring ways to Barcelona, where she weighed 85 goals in 101 games between 2019 and 2024, earning numerous individual accolades and trophies, was replaced by Anderson at the restart.

When Bay FC travels to Providence Park on Friday to play Portland Thorns FC, it will be expected of the Nigerian international, who has also played for Liverpool and Arsenal, to score goals.

At the final whistle, players from Barcelona were spotted enjoying the reunion by giving Oshoala one hug after another, indicating that the match was amicable throughout. “Great to see you again, Asisat Oshoala,” the UEFA Champions League winners posted on social media to express their enthusiasm.
