Regarding the game’s expectations, Nassar stated that Season Two, which starts on September 6 and ends on December 15, is a professional league competition in which 12 teams are vying for a N20 million grand prize.
The Warriors Flag Football, Spartans FC, Panthers Sport, Outlaws Athletics, Lagos Rebels, LA Knights, Titans Athletics, Lagos Mavericks, Wolverines, and Lagos Hawks are the teams that are taking part.
“The winner will receive six million naira, the runner-up in second place will receive four million naira, and the third and fourth place finishers will receive N2.5 million each,” the speaker stated.
She said that monetary incentives would also be awarded for other positions.
The teams had witnessed the effects of Season One, which took place in Lagos in 2023, according to Nassar, who also promised that Season Two would be even bigger and better, with more emphasis on educating the public about flag football while growing and improving the game’s fan base.
Nigeria stands to gain a historic position on the international scene as a result of the growing interest in flag football, which is scheduled to be a part of the 2028 Olympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles, California.
According to Nasser, the league also had Showtime Streets, a place where athletes were found on the streets, developed, and added to the Pro League roster.
The goal of Showtime Pro and the Showtime Streets, according to Adebare Adejumo, Showtime Flag Commissioner, was to find elite athletes in the second edition.
He stated that the Community Cup gave the league a taste of that and that the Showtime Bowl Series XI would be fantastic.
