The Nigerian Higher Education Board (JAMB) has warned that no institution can admit students below its self-prescribed minimum score. Out of 153 universities, eight recommended 120 as a benchmark for admission. However, the board’s standards require institutions to increase their minimum score to 140. 11 institutions, including Pan-Atlantic University, Covenant University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and University of Lagos, will not admit students below the 140 recommended benchmark. JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated that institutions like the University of Lagos cannot admit students below the submitted score.
