Burna Boy, a Nigerian singer, has publicly distanced himself from the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests, stating that the fight in him died during the ENDSARS protest in 2020 when some protesters made calls to boycott his music.

Burna Boy’s post sparked reactions from X.com users who called him out in the comment section over his silence in the ongoing protest. Some users questioned Burna’s self-proclaimed ‘African Giant’ title, stating that he was not supposed to be the Giant of Africa like he claimed to be. Burna Boy responded by declaring that he hand over the title to Falz brothers, seemingly relinquishing it to fellow musician, Falz.

The protests have been a source of frustration for many Nigerians, who have been thrown under the bus abroad and during election and protest. Burna Boy’s decision to distance himself from the ongoing protests has been met with mixed reactions from his fans.
