Davido requested “unfettered and unrestricted access to Miss Imade” in a motion filed in the Lagos State High Court on April 17, 2024, by his attorneys, Dr. Olaniyi Arije, Okey Barrah, and others, according to Punch Newspapers.
“It is on record that I have been responsible for paying all of my daughter’s school fees in order to give her the best education possible and to meet all of her educational needs without any issues,” he stated.
The musician said that Sophia rejected his offer when he tried to purchase an apartment in a gated condominium community in Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“The respondent rejected the offer to stay and live at the above-described secured Oniru apartment, which had been purchased already, but demanded that I continue to pay N5,000,000 annually for a rented facility as my own contribution towards my daughter’s accommodation,” he said.
Additionally, Davido said in his letter that he bought cars to make sure Imade’s transportation needs were satisfied and that Sophia neglected to notify him when one of the cars broke down. In his letter, he stated, “I purchased a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle for the respondent and child to use for transportation needs, such as getting the child to and from school.”
She started offering justifications, saying that the Range Rover SUV wasn’t in excellent shape, but she wouldn’t tell me that. Following the disclosure of the car’s stated condition, I gave the respondent and our daughter access to a second vehicle, a Highlander SUV, as well as the N5.8 million she wanted for the Range Rover SUV’s repair. As a result, the respondent and our daughter now had two automobiles,” he continued.
The musician said in the lawsuit that his child’s mother had persisted in making demands in an attempt to “frustrate him.”
“I have also been providing money for the respondent’s apartment rent where she resides with our daughter,” he said. That in spite of my attempts to act in my daughter’s best interests overall, the response keeps making absurd and utopian demands in an attempt to irritate me.
