This initiative aims to provide older adults with a supportive and dignified environment, where they can enjoy their later years independently under the slogan “Live Well, Age Well, Thrive Together.” The facility, named in honor of Sobowale’s parents, focuses on offering residential accommodations, personalized care, and opportunities for community living, designed to assist families struggling to provide constant care due to various responsibilities.
Sobowale’s motivation for establishing the care home stems from her experiences working in elderly care in the UK, where she progressed from caregiver to team leader while obtaining National Vocational Qualification certificates. This background has significantly influenced her approach to the care facility in Nigeria.
The launch ceremony attracted several notable figures, including Governor Makinde and prominent Nollywood actors such as Adebayo Salami, Kunle Afolayan, and Femi Adebayo, along with family and friends who celebrated Sobowale’s achievement. During the event, Governor Makinde praised Sobowale’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of older citizens, announcing plans to improve the facility’s accessibility and security through infrastructure upgrades.
In addition to the launch of the care home, Sobowale unveiled her book ‘Built From the Break,’ marking another achievement. She expressed her joy and gratitude on social media, viewing the opening of Joseph and Esther Homes as a dream come true. The facility is expected to begin full operations by the end of 2026, representing a significant step in Sobowale’s dedication to elderly welfare and marking her expansion beyond the entertainment industry into philanthropic efforts aimed at supporting older citizens. Overall, this initiative has received widespread acclaim from Nigerians, highlighting Sobowale’s impact in a new domain of social service.
