The current proceedings, anticipated to span several days, are overseen by a panel of judges, including Justices Binta Nyako, James Omotosho, Salim Ibrahim, Emeka Nwite, Obiora Egwuatu, Hauwa Yilwa, Joyce Abdulmalik, and Peter Lifu.

On the docket for Thursday were at least 34 suspected terrorists slated for arraignment under Justice Ibrahim, while Justice Lifu had 25 defendants scheduled. Notable names included in the arraignment list before Justice Ibrahim were Isah Ismail, Alai Goni, Bulama Lawal, Garba Ibrahim, and key defendants Mallam Modu Abba Kichi and Lawal Alhaji Mamman, alongside Usman Abubakar, among others.

The case is being prosecuted by a team led by Oyedepo Rotimi (SAN), the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation (DPPF), shifting from the Attorney-General of the Federation’s team that managed the previous trial. The defense is represented by a team led by Aliyu Abubakar, the Director General of the Legal Aid Council.

Notably, the court proceedings were marked by substantial security measures, ensuring the safety of all participants within and around the court premises during the trial.
