According to the EFCC’s statement, which was made by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the ongoing investigation is primarily focused on specific immigration officers accused of engaging in visa fraud.

The EFCC firmly stated, “The Commission wishes to state unequivocally that it has no case with the Immigration CG.” Currently, there are pending criminal proceedings against specific officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Federal High Court, indicating that the investigation is progressing. Furthermore, the EFCC mentioned that ongoing inquiries could lead to additional charges against other immigration officers implicated in fraudulent activities.

The agency emphasized that the investigation does not involve Nandap and advised media outlets to confirm facts with the EFCC prior to dissemination to prevent inaccuracies. “The media is enjoined to always seek clarifications on the activities of the EFCC to avoid misrepresentation of facts,” the statement concluded. This ongoing situation highlights the EFCC’s commitment to tackling corruption within immigration while distinguishing the roles of involved parties.
