Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi highlighted the importance of Adeyemi’s testimony as it pertains to serious accusations affecting both individuals and institutional integrity. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bashir Abdullahi, confirmed that an eight-count charge against Adeyemi has already been filed in the Federal High Court, while cautioning against public disclosures that could compromise the investigation.

Key details from the inquiry include allegations that Adeyemi misrepresented himself as the Director-General of both the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and the PFIPC, using these identities to leverage resources unlawfully. Evidence is being scrutinized, particularly regarding discrepancies between signatures on documents tied to the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President and authentic government correspondence, which indicates potential forgery.

The committee has identified 29 allegedly forged documents linked to various government agencies, raising concerns about the authenticity of communications attributed to these offices. Gagdi reassured that the investigation will continue without infringing on the criminal inquiry led by the police, aiming to ensure that all findings are independent and may lead to further actionable recommendations by security agencies.
