“We are here to celebrate someone who is just marvelous,” she remarked. I express this without holding back. If not someone whom God has made to have an impact on humanity, then how can someone sit in her peaceful corner and keep giving? When we first arrived at the first hostel, we were asked what we wanted from the family by General Theophilus Danjuma after we had visited Daisy.

We stated that we would be grateful if they could provide us with a hostel, and we were given one, which was opened on Saturday, April 29, 2023, by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State. Daisy remarked, “Why not give a second hostel?” when she visited UNIBEN to officially open the hostel. Before the foundation was laid and we had it, we believed it was a joke.

Again, we’re here to celebrate Daisy’s 72nd birthday, and she made a promise to provide us with a third hostel. If this keeps up, God willing, we will most likely have Senator Daisy Danjuma hostels all across UNIBEN by the time she turns 90.

The vice chancellor expressed optimism that the family would agree to the institution’s male students’ request for a boys’ hostel.

During his speech, Andy Ehanire, the donor’s representative, stated that the Danjuma family believed they owed the institution more than the university owed them.

Ehanire applauded the university for granting honorary doctorates to the former minister and his spouse.
