- Commissioner apologises to Lagosians over waste management challenges
Wahab apologized in a statement during an interview on ARISE Television that was published on his official X handle on Friday.
“We are resolving the issue that we encountered,” he stated.
According to the commissioner, the state is switching from its traditional linear waste management system to a circular one that views garbage as a resource.
He claims that the new strategy is intended to increase environmental sustainability while generating revenue from garbage.
According to Wahab, the state has put in place a food waste digester in Ikosi to produce energy from organic waste.
According to him, C-40 funded the project’s pilot program and supported the state’s goal of sustainable waste management.
According to the commissioner, the program is a component of larger initiatives to update waste management and enhance environmental results throughout the state.
He reiterated the government’s dedication to improving waste management systems and guaranteeing that citizens live in cleaner areas.
