On June 12, the platform was formally introduced at the Cultural Centre in Abeokuta.  Speaking at the launch, Governor Abiodun stated that OgunLearn would help teachers plan lessons, access teaching materials, and monitor student performance more effectively while also offering students interactive learning support and complete lesson resources.

He clarified that the platform would foster creativity, digital thinking, and self-paced learning. He also mentioned that it is intended to support learners’ accountability, analytical thinking, and lifetime learning abilities in addition to providing instructional content.
The governor stated, “Today, OgunLearn reflects our firm belief that every child, regardless of location or background, deserves access to quality education enhanced by technology.”

According to Abiodun, the program is an example of ingenuity, vision, and a conscious attempt to train kids and young people for the future rather than the past.

He claims that OgunLearn is a digital educational tool designed to modernise instruction in all of the state’s schools.
As of right now, we are the only state in the federation with a Skills Qualifications Awarding Body. Additionally, we are an accredited training facility that helps our students become internationally renowned digital professionals,” he said.

The governor listed a number of education and skill-development programs that his administration had implemented, such as the Ogun Skills Fund to increase employability, Ogun Educash and Ogun Scholar to advance equity and access, Ogun-Rehab to update school facilities, Ogun Teach to improve teacher quality, and Ogun-DIPER to improve efficiency and transparency.

He continued, “Taken as a whole, these initiatives represent a purposeful system reform agenda that places learners, teachers, and outcomes at the centre.”  According to Abiodun, introducing AI principles to students throughout the state will contribute to the development of a workforce that can innovate locally, compete internationally, and draw in high-value investments.

OgunLearn is a key component of Ogun State’s Education Digital Transformation Agenda, which aims to improve learning results, empower teachers, and strengthen institutions. The Digital Platform for Education Revitalisation (DIPER), which has improved efficiency and transparency in school administration, is a noteworthy accomplishment.

Ogun State invented the widely used Learner Identification System and is currently a national leader in technical and vocational education and training. Initiatives like OgunLearn are viewed as essential for constructing the future; this was particularly evident during the COVID-19 epidemic, when technology guaranteed educational continuation.
