Fabrizio Romano wrote on X on Monday that Bayer Leverkusen had recently fired Erik ten Hag. The manager was notified immediately after the club’s administration reached a decision this morning.
Ten Hag oversaw a difficult start to the new league season, despite winning his first game in command, a 4-0 triumph against fourth-tier SG in the German Cup’s first round. Hoffenheim defeated Leverkusen 2-1 at home in their initial match, and this weekend they let a two-goal advantage go against 10-man Werder Bremen.
