The 27-year-old Nigerian international has not shown up for La Dea’s preseason training camp as the team gets ready for the upcoming season. He is now at odds with his current club, Atalanta, because they won’t allow him to join the Nerazzurri.
The Nigerian player is furious because the 2024 UEFA Europa League champions have rejected two offers from Inter Milan for Lookman’s services, believing that €50 million is his actual transfer value.
The Bergamo-based team has been waiting for offers outside of Italy as Atalanta aims to make as much money as possible off of Lookman. Lookman hasn’t, however, stated that he is now considering interest from other clubs.
Lookman is “absolutely set on joining Inter,” according to the Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews. The Nigerian international and the Nerazzurri have a complete agreement. They have been doing this for a while.
“Inter is not pursuing any other attacking targets,” the publication continued. In addition to keeping Lookman content and confident, this also keeps other suitors from glancing at him. Lookman is a top target for Inter coach Cristian Chivu. He is prepared to alter the lineup to accommodate the former forward for Leicester City.
After Lookman departed Italy without authorization and skipped training sessions in protest of the club’s rejection of Inter Milan’s transfer request, Atalanta is getting ready to sue the Nigerian.
After Atalanta rejected Inter’s most recent offer, the 27-year-old winger took an unapproved holiday, and the club’s management deemed his actions to be totally unacceptable.
Football Italia claims that the Percassi family has prepared a lawsuit that might cost Lookman a lot of money. Lookman has reportedly stopped talking to the team since leaving Italy.
