Because the compound’s gate was still locked, Samson’s older brother, a sickle cell patient, set off the alarm with a shout, drawing attention inside.
When neighbors entered the house to stop the suspect from abusing his mother, they found the deceased in the pool of her blood.
In a video that he shared on social media, an X user going by the handle Ose showed Samson holding the knife that he is said to have used to murder his mother.
The family lives on Jehovah Street, Obiedike, Obiaruku, according to a close relative, and Samson first moved to Asaba to pursue a trade after graduating from high school. But after hanging around with some people who got him into drugs, which had a bad effect on his mental health, he was supposedly brought back a few months later.
After that, Samson was sent to Obiaruku, where his mother enrolled him in a conventional mental health center.
The Delta State Police Command spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the event to reporters and stated that Samson had been taken into custody.
