The collision was confirmed by Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesman in Ogun, in a statement released in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
According to Okpe, the accident happened at 3:14 p.m. and included a Mazda bus with the registration number DDA 733 XA.

She said that after making an improper overtake, the driver lost control of the bus, causing it to crash into the road barrier, tumble, and catch fire right away.
Twelve males, three women, and one female kid were among the sixteen individuals involved in the disaster.

She said, “Four men were injured, and others died from burns.”

According to Okpe, the wounded individuals were brought to Patmag Hospital in Ogere.

She said that drivers should always abide by traffic laws and regulations, as instructed by Sector Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin.

“The Sector Commander extends his condolences to the families of the crash victims and hopes that the injured parties heal quickly.

She clarified, “He, however, called on drivers to maintain the designated speed on the highway and to make sure the road is clear before overtaking.”
