Blessing Agbebaku, the speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, has tendered his resignation.
Amidst attempts by certain lawmakers to impeach him, Agbebaku resigned on Monday.
Ivy Adodo-Ebojele, his media assistant, acknowledged his resignation on Facebook and promised to release further information about the reasons behind his departure.
She posted, “EDO ASSEMBLY SPEAKER RT HON CHIEF BLESSING AGBEBAKU RESIGNS.”
The Edo State House of Assembly is facing a new leadership problem as a result of the development, and legislators are anticipated to choose a new Speaker.
