BREAKING: Appeal Court fired Elumelu, declares LP’s Okolie winner

The Labour Party candidate, Mr. Ngozi Okolie, was declared to be a validly elected representative by the court. According to reports from February, Ngozi Okolie of the Liberal Party received 53,879 votes overall to defeat incumbent minority leader Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party, who received 33,456 votes, and Tony Nwaake of the Liberal Party, who received 11, 712 votes.

But in July, the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which has its headquarters in Asaba, Delta State, certified PDP candidate Ndudi Elumelu the victor of the constituency’s 2023 House of Representatives election.
