Following the end of the 2027 academic year, the campus will be returned to the Gauteng Department of Education, as per the original partnership terms. Current students will continue their education with full financial support until graduation.

While local officials will manage operations, Winfrey is introducing a new scholarship program aimed at expanding educational access for girls. This initiative is designed to double the number of young women benefiting from her educational model, reflecting the success of OWLAG’s students over the past two decades.

In support of the remaining students, Winfrey has committed to covering tuition for their attendance at other prestigious schools until they graduate. Winfrey expressed her admiration for the students, highlighting their diverse contributions across various professional fields, including business, law, and the arts.

She emphasized that the vision that started with the academy will extend further, enabling even more young women in South Africa to pursue educational opportunities through scholarships and partnerships. Winfrey reaffirmed her enduring mission: to empower young women to discover their potential, change their lives, and contribute positively to the future of South Africa, stating, “That promise doesn’t end here.
