The Ministry of Transportation indicated that the Federal Ministry of Works will oversee these rehabilitation efforts, which are targeted to last for two weeks.

To facilitate the repairs, the existing four-lane carriageway will be temporarily narrowed to two lanes over a stretch of 1.5 kilometres, creating a safe working area for engineers. This lane reduction is anticipated to lead to moderate traffic congestion around the Fatgbems Turn, as some motorists may opt to make U-turns or utilize alternative routes to avoid delays.

The ministry reassured road users that vehicles heading towards Ibadan, beyond the Fatgbems Turn, should experience minimal disruption during the repair period. Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips in advance and consider alternative routes when feasible. They should also comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with traffic management officials stationed along the corridor to maintain the flow of traffic.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Transportation emphasized the importance of this rehabilitation work, highlighting that it aims to enhance the safety and durability of the Kara Bridge for the benefit of all motorists.
