BYM, through a statement by its National Publicity Secretary Rwang Tengwong, condemned ongoing attacks on communities and urged immediate action from security agencies. The latest assault occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Zargwok community of Gashish District within the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, where gunmen opened fire on local residents, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, Ayuba Danladi (33) and Luka Macham (35), both of whom were on community patrol at the time. Their remains have been taken to the ECWA Clinic.

Additionally, BYM addressed a claim made by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) regarding the deaths of four members near the Gero–Rafin Bauna area in Jos South. BYM asserted that these individuals were part of a group that attacked a mining site in Nyango, Gyel District on June 29, during which they allegedly shot at local miners, leading to the death of three and injuries to two others. In retaliation, local vigilantes mobilized, confronting the attackers, resulting in four being neutralized while others fled.

BYM called for security agencies to ascertain the identities of those involved and conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation into both incidents. They further urged the authorities to enhance protective measures for vulnerable communities, apprehend those responsible for the violence, and restore public trust in safety protocols that safeguard lives and property. Attempts to reach the Plateau State Police Command spokesman, SP Alfred Alabo, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of the report.
