On May 31st, President Tinubu dispatched a high-level delegation to Ogbomoso, Oyo State, in response to a recent incident involving the abduction of teachers and pupils from local schools on May 15. The delegation included key security figures: National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, Minister of Defence Christopher Musa, and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Their objective was to meet with community leaders and the families of those kidnapped during the invasion of Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School by suspected armed bandits.

During their visit, the delegation engaged with community leaders and relatives of the victims, emphasizing the government’s commitment to securing the safe return of those still held captive. The atmosphere in Ogbomoso remains tense, with growing concerns expressed by relatives and residents who are urging both the Federal and Oyo State Governments for a swift rescue operation. Although security agencies have not provided specific updates regarding the status of the abductees, ongoing rescue efforts have been reported, reflecting the critical situation that continues to unfold in the community.
