Frank Ekewei, a suspect in the heist at Glorified Ambassadors For Christ Assembly, which is situated along NIT Road in Etegwe, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has been captured and paraded by the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit.

The tragedy happened early on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Operatives of the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit promptly activated the agency’s detective unit and started looking into the occurrence after receiving a distress call about it from a worried civilian.

The suspect, Mr. Frank Ekewei, a 20-year-old native of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State who lived along Deeper Life Road, Okutukutu, Yenagoa, was apprehended at around 11:00 a.m. on the same day while carrying the stolen goods along the Etegwe Roundabout axis of Melford Okilo Road, Yenagoa.

After that, the suspect was taken to the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit’s operations headquarters for questioning and interrogation.

The suspect admitted to the crime under questioning by Oyinkuro Lucky Asanakpo, Chairman of the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit. He also disclosed how Mr. Miracle, a man from Benin, Edo State, who is now at large, reportedly enticed him into joining the robbery gang.

Additionally, Mr. Frank Ekewei promised to assist security personnel by offering helpful information that would help apprehend the escaping suspect.

Bishop Patterson Kikile, the church’s overseer, claims that the two suspects entered the building at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, broke through the back door, and took away a 50-inch and a 32-inch Hisense television.

The suspect and the recovered materials have been turned over to Operation Doo Akpo for additional investigation and potential prosecution in accordance with the agency’s operating protocols and ethical standards.
