The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement released by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Professor Aina is a Computer Engineering expert at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with strong experience in digital systems, examination technology and institutional reforms.

The Presidency described Aina, who will turn 40 in July, as one of Nigeria’s youngest professors in Computer Engineering and the youngest person ever appointed as JAMB Registrar.

The statement revealed that he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent and later obtained both a Master’s degree in Internet Computing and Network Security and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.

He also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.

According to the Presidency, Aina has spent more than 15 years working with federal and state governments on digital transformation, public-sector reforms and system development.

He has also reportedly served as a consultant to examination agencies such as NECO and NABTEB, particularly on ICT systems and examination security.

The statement further noted that he belongs to several professional organisations, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that Aina would continue the progress made under the leadership of Professor Oloyede and further improve the operations of JAMB.

The Presidency added that the new registrar is expected to apply his expertise and experience to strengthen the educational body and build on its existing achievements.
