Dr. Adebusola Morenikeji Onilogbo-Odedina, PhD, fAPAR, stands as a beacon of excellence in Nigeria’s public service; a distinguished scholar, reform advocate, and cultural ambassador whose leadership continues to shape the narrative of governance and innovation in Lagos State and beyond.
A proud daughter of royal heritage, Dr. Odedina hails from the illustrious Onilogbo royal lineage of Ilogbo Eremi in Badagry, Lagos State. Her journey is one of vision, integrity, and impact. The story of a woman who has not only served with distinction but has also redefined public administration through intellect, compassion, and creativity.
Her academic journey began at the prestigious University of Ibadan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Political Science. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and excellence, she went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Enterprise Management, and ultimately a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science with a specialization in Public Administration. Her scholarly path reflects a consistent pursuit of excellence and a commitment to governance reform and institutional strengthening.
With over twenty-four (24) years of distinguished service in the Lagos State Public Service, Dr. Odedina has become a pillar of visionary administration. She currently serves as the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, where her leadership has seamlessly integrated administrative efficiency, human capital development, and cultural diplomacy. Under her direction, the Council has continued to promote the creative economy while advancing cultural preservation and exchange; positioning Lagos as a hub of artistic innovation and institutional excellence.
A prolific author and researcher, Dr. Odedina’s intellectual contributions extend across governance, leadership, gender studies, creative economies, and values education. She has authored twenty (20) books, including notable titles such as Leading from Within: A Civil Servant’s Guide to Transformational Leadership and Creative Economies: The Role of Arts and Culture in Socio-Economic Development in Lagos State. These works have earned wide acclaim for advancing the discourse on public sector reform and sustainable development across Africa. Her books are available on Amazon and Selar, inspiring scholars, practitioners, and young leaders globally.
Beyond authorship, Dr. Odedina imparts her wealth of experience as an Adjunct Lecturer at Babcock University, mentoring emerging leaders in Political Science and Public Administration. Through lectures, research collaborations, and public speaking engagements, she continues to shape minds and institutions with her passion for knowledge transfer, civic responsibility, and ethical governance.
Her life’s work extends beyond the classroom and the boardroom. A dedicated philanthropist and women’s empowerment advocate, Dr. Odedina is deeply involved in community initiatives focused on children’s education, women’s capacity building, and social reintegration programs. She is an active member of several service-oriented organizations, including the Lions Club International, the Boys Scout of Nigeria, and the Prison Rehabilitation Mission International, reflecting her lifelong commitment to humanitarian service.

Today, as she is conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Association of Public Administration Researchers (fAPAR), we celebrate not only her illustrious career but also her enduring influence as a mentor and model for excellence in public service.
