Cindy Jacobs, an American independent charismatic prophetess, author, speaker, and co-founder of Generals International, has said that Alex Otti has been divinely positioned to serve as a model for leadership and governance.
The cleric, who returned to Nigeria 23 years after her previous visit alongside her husband, Mike Jacobs, said she had a vision of extensive road infrastructure projects across the state, linking rural communities and making it easier for farmers to transport their produce to markets. She added that she also saw divine provision of funds to support these developments.
According to her, “God will begin to release resources for infrastructure. I see supernatural provision that will help farmers sell their produce. I see roads connecting villages to market hubs. I may not know much about your state, but I believe God wants you to become a model.”
She further stated that Otti would implement impactful policies that would position Abia as one of the most educated states in the region, using education as a tool to lift citizens out of poverty.
“God intends for you to be a prototype of what is possible in the region when He is exalted. I also see policies being introduced that will make your state widely known for education. I see schools being built and teacher training being strengthened. Through education, many people will be lifted out of poverty,” she added.
In his response, Otti told the preacher that since taking office, his administration has consistently dedicated 35 percent of the state’s annual budget to education and healthcare, with 20 percent going to education and 15 percent to health.
He described her remarks as spiritually insightful and disclosed that his government had recruited 5,394 teachers in the first phase of its employment drive, with plans underway to hire an additional 4,000 teachers.
The governor also revealed that three newly constructed smart schools would be inaugurated before the end of the month.
Speaking to the congregation, Otti emphasised that Christian leaders must live by their teachings, noting that leadership is fundamentally about service. He stressed that people are more influenced by actions than words.
He added that while fasting and prayer are important, righteousness remains key to national progress, warning that wrongdoing can undermine prayers.
Naija Street Matters reports that the National Thanksgiving Worship Service is an interdenominational gathering focused on praying for Nigeria, particularly for an end to violence caused by terrorists and bandits, as well as for national healing and development.
The event drew religious leaders from across the world, with Jacobs serving as the main guest preacher.
Former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili, alongside her husband Chinedu Ezekwesili, who were among the organisers, described Governor Otti as a standout example of good governance in Nigeria.
