In a move that signals early preparation, James Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency, has officially obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The forms were presented in Abuja on Tuesday by Suleiman Argungu, marking the formal opening of the process. Faleke, who is also known as the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, completed the purchase of the forms valued at a staggering ₦100 million — a clear indication that the President’s re-election journey has begun.

This development sets the stage for what promises to be a closely watched political season, as Nigeria gradually moves toward another general election cycle.

According to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Presidential and National Assembly elections have been scheduled for January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will follow on February 6, 2027.

INEC also outlined the timeline for political activities, noting that party primaries — including the resolution of any disputes — will take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026.

Campaign activities are expected to begin later in the year, with presidential and National Assembly campaigns kicking off on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly campaigns will start on September 9, 2026.

As the countdown slowly begins, more details surrounding the process are expected to emerge in the coming months.
