The Iranian government spokesperson stated on Tuesday, April 14, that preliminary estimates of the damage caused by US-Israeli strikes against Iran are approximately $270 billion.According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency, Fatemeh Mohajerani told Russia’s RIA Novosti, “One of the issues that our negotiating team is pursuing and which was also pursued in the Islamabad talks is the issue of war reparations.”
Mohajerani emphasized that the $270 billion estimate is not final, saying, “Damages usually have to be examined in several layers.”
Following the US and Israel’s coordinated strikes against Iran on February 28, which resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries, regional tensions increased.
Prior to the announcement of a two-week ceasefire last week, Tehran initiated retaliation strikes against Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and Gulf nations housing US military installations.
