As colleagues, partners, and well-wishers celebrate the birthday of Dr. Celestine Ibojiemenmen, (also known as The Business Apostle), many are reflecting on a career defined by enterprise, education, and a strong commitment to creating opportunities for others.
Over the years, Dr. Ibojiemenmen has built a reputation across several sectors, moving from engineering and international industry experience into entrepreneurship in real estate, private education, and more recently, media.
Born in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, he began his early education in Lagos, attending Faronbi Primary School before proceeding to Matori Grammar School for his secondary education. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Benin.
With a keen interest in both technical expertise and leadership, he pursued further studies abroad, earning a Master’s degree in Engineering Development and Management from Northwest University in South Africa. He also obtained a Master of Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University and later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers’ Institute in Nigeria.
His early professional journey took him across several industries and countries. After completing his National Youth Service Corps programme at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, he worked with Gateway Bank before gaining international experience with Sasol Petrochemical in South Africa and later with Gulp Piping in Abu Dhabi, where he served as a Modular Construction Engineer.
On returning to Nigeria, Dr. Ibojiemenmen turned his focus to entrepreneurship. He founded Phostine Properties and later established Phostine Premium Schools, reflecting his commitment to improving access to quality education. Through Phostine Realty Limited, headquartered in Lekki, Lagos, he has also contributed to housing development in one of the country’s fastest-growing urban areas.
In 2025, he expanded his entrepreneurial vision into the media space with the launch of Naija Street Matters, a storytelling and media platform dedicated to highlighting everyday people, businesses, and cultural moments across Nigeria. Through interviews, community features, and promotional content, the platform seeks to give visibility to individuals and enterprises that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Those who work closely with him often describe a leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to leadership. Colleagues frequently point to his analytical mindset, his energy, and his ability to turn ideas into action.
As he marks another birthday, tributes from staff and associates reflect the personal impact of his leadership. Many describe him as a mentor who actively supports the growth of those around him, encouraging learning and professional development.
Others highlight his leadership style; a blend of discipline, humour, and empathy that fosters both productivity and strong relationships within his organisations.
For many within his companies and initiatives, Dr. Ibojiemenmen represents more than a chairman. He is widely seen as a guide and inspiration whose influence extends beyond business into personal and professional growth.
