Trump stated on Truth Social that interim Venezuelan authorities will send over “sanctioned oil” to be sold at market value with US control over the earnings.
He claimed that the money would be used “to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” by the US.

The barrels “will be taken by storage ships, and brought directly to unloading docks in the United States,” and Energy Secretary Chris Wright has been instructed to “execute this plan, immediately.

“I am pleased to announce that the Interim Authorities in Venezuela will be turning over between 30 and 50 MILLION Barrels of high-quality, sanctioned oil to the United States of America,” Trump tweeted.

“This oil will be sold at its market price, and as President of the United States of America, I will control that money to make sure it is used to benefit the people of the United States and Venezuela!”

“I have asked Energy Secretary Chris Wright to carry out this plan immediately,” Trump continued. Storage ships will transport it straight to American unloading docks.

“I appreciate your consideration of this issue!”

According to President Trump, Venezuela will give the United States between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil.
His remarks were made one day after Delcy Rodríguez, the former vice president of Venezuela, took the oath of office as the country’s acting president. Maduro has been hauled to the United States to face charges related to firearms and narcotics trafficking.

The US president stated to NBC News on Monday that “having a Venezuela that’s an oil producer is good for the United States because it keeps the price of oil down.”
