Kanu was sentenced today, Nov. 20, after being convicted on seven terrorism charges.

Reacting to the sentencing, Okon Lagos stated that if terrorists of northern extraction who have taken many lives can be pardoned because the claim to be “repentant”, then Nnamdi Kanu should also be pardoned.

“Not a surprise,” Okon Lagos wrote. The sentencing from Nnamdi Kanu was much anticipated. Can we go on to another urgent issue now that he has been found guilty: a political solution through state pardon and clemency?

“Nnamdi Kanu can receive the same treatment if “repentant” terrorists from Northern Nigeria can be “justifiably” pardoned and reintegrated into vital national security institutions like our military forces.

“I beg you, Mr. President Sir, to balance the scales and demonstrate more dignity than your immediate predecessor. I’m sure you can. I’m hoping you will.
