EVANGELIST UMA UKPAI PASSES AWAY AT 80

Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, the well-known Nigerian evangelist and spiritual leader of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, passed away.

His family confirmed this in a statement on Monday, stating that he died on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.

According to the family, his death marked a “glorious transition” from a life of selfless devotion to eternal rest.

Known as a spiritual general and founding father of faith, Ukpai devoted more than 60 years of his life to evangelization, powerful Word teaching, and prophetic manifestations of God’s might.

Millions of people in Nigeria and around the world were influenced by his ministry, which shaped lives and fostered spiritual development in successive generations.

He dedicated his life to passionately and honorably sharing the gospel as a devoted soldier of the cross.

His family stated that his mentorship, teachings, and prophetic insights have created a lasting legacy that will motivate believers for years to come.
Ukpai gained notoriety throughout his ministry for his ferocious evangelistic efforts, revolutionary teachings, and dedication to elevating laity and clerical leaders.

In addition to his spiritual work, he was praised for being a dedicated father, a loving spouse, and a mentor to many people who looked to him for guidance in both faith and life.

In their statement, the family thanked Ukpai for his life and contributions, emphasizing that although they are saddened by his physical departure, they are happy that he has “finished his race and is now resting in eternal praise.”

They promised that information about his obsequies would be made public when the time came.

A significant spiritual and social legacy is left by Ukpai’s more than 60-year ministry, which includes churches, educational programs, and humanitarian endeavors that still have an impact on communities around the world.
