Israel announced Thursday that all sides in Egypt have approved the final version of the first phase of a ceasefire and hostage-release agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

“All parties to free all the hostages signed the final draft of phase one this morning in Egypt,” Israeli government spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian informed reporters.

She stated, “At this point, phase one is very clear: all of our hostages, both living and dead, will be released 72 hours later, which will carry us to Monday.”
According to Bedrosian, the truce will go into force “within 24 hours” of Israel’s security cabinet meeting, which is set for Thursday at 1400 GMT and is anticipated to endorse the proposal.

“After this 24-hour period, the 72-hour window will start where all of our hostages will be released back into Israel,” she stated. “The IDF will then redeploy to the yellow line as shown on maps that have been widely distributed at this point in time.”

At 1500 GMT, a full government meeting will take place after the security cabinet meeting.
